Alkiya, officially the Federal Republic of Alkiya (Alkiyan: Republicu Federal do Alkiya), is a sovereign state of 200 million people located in Declansburg consisting of 22 semi-sovereign states and one federal district known as the Capital Territory. Originally founded on the tenets of socialism, it has transitioned to neocapitalism as of 1 June 2090, and has experienced explosive growth in its GDP and economic output as a result. According to the 2100 World Trade Census, it is a major economic and trade hub for Declansburg and the world as a whole.
Alkiya is a federal parliamentary republic with an elected president (limited to two terms) and an appointed prime minister. The current president is Sigfried Signum, who was elected on 5 February 2198, while the current prime minister is Nanoha Takamachi, who was appointed by the National Assembly on 9 December 2199.
