Alliaronia (Alliaronian: Alliaronien), officially the United Kingdom of Alliaronia (Alliaronian: Varnigtes Köngerich ven Alliaronien), is a country and a sovereign state located in the southern fringes of Gothis. The country is primarily composed of two regions, those being Allia and Ronland. It shares land borders with Goyanes, Frisia, and Kozstoha to the north, Valland to the east, and Gotmark to the west. At present, Alliaronia is a member of the Grenseverein, a part of the Dramzone, a signatory and member of the International Federation of Red Heart Societies, and a new member of the Pan-Gotic Union.

South Gotic tribes had settled predominantly in present-day Ronland in antiquity, establishing a few tribal confederations. The Northern Gots, or the Nords, hailing from Goyanes, Hessunland, Frisia and Andrenne, explored the region of present-day Allia, settled there, and established the Fjalmatt Confederation stretching from present-day Æstfolzea to Gnävengerstad in northern Sielmettelv, following the path of the Fjalmatt river. The South Gotic tribal confederations often were involved with clashes against the Fjalmatt Confederation, with the latter winning most confrontations.

The Fjalmatt cities got in contact with modern-day Goyanes in 1521, and submitted to their power, becoming a protectorate. At this point, they renamed themselves Allia, then became part of the United Kingdoms of Andrenne and Goyanes in 1650, under Gojan control. Throughout the years the South Gotic tribes formed small principalities, eventually uniting to form the Confederal Kingdoms of Ronland to counter UKAG influence. The Confederacy then participated in gaining Vallish independence, and formed an alliance with the newly-independent state.

For most of their existence, the Gojan protectorate of Allia and the confederal kingdoms of Ronland were embroiled in a series of wars. During the 18th century, the Allians annexed East Allia in 1712, subjugating the existing Wraessenic populace in the area under their control. The protectorate was heavily dependent on Goyanes for its defense and economy, and at that point, their culture were heavily influenced by their Gojan rulers. The state of war between the two states reached its peak in 1768 to 1790.

In 1818, the United Kingdoms of Andrenne and Goyanes was dissolved. Allia remained a protectorate under control by Goyanes, and the region experienced rapid growth as newer modes of transportation to connect the entirety of Goyanes and its territories were being built. By the 1850s, the Allians campaigned to be independent, and 11 years later in 1861 the Kingdom of Allia was formed after Goyanes ended its protectorate status on the region. The kingdom was short-lived, however, as Allia and Ronland merged its crowns a year later, establishing present-day Alliaronia.

At the beginning of the 20th century, both the Allians and the Ronish planned out a new capital for their united nations. At the mouth of the river Braüs, where it met the sea, they planned the establishment of Friegöndt as the new capital of Alliaronia, with construction beginning in 1908. By 1932, the new capital city was fully settled, and the monarchs of Alliaronia moved in at their new residence and place of work, that being Friegöndterpalazst.

The peace of Alliaronia and Gothis combined were shattered in 1935 as the Fascist Wars began. Andrenne rapidly attacked most of Alliaronia's neighbors. It was not until Valland was annexed that prompted Operation Glacier to be launched. Alliaronia began a liberation campaign of Valland, where the nation saw the harshest combat in their history of war. Despite heavy losses, the liberation campaigns of Valland are one of the major factors of the two nations' strong diplomatic relations.

Alliaronia emerged victorious in the Fascist Wars, however the heavy losses made the country significantly wounded, prompting the country to have a non-interventionist policy. However, the lessons of the wars caused an overhaul of the Alliaronian Armed Forces, greatly improving Alliaronia's military capability. Along with that, Alliaronia primarily helped Valland in its post-war recovery.

The country was threatened during the Gotmark War and prompted them to fight alongside Andrenne, Gotmark and Goyanes. The country had minor involvement, but was victorious along with the three belligerents. Alliaronia joined the Pan-Gotic Union in 2020.

The name Alliaronia is a portmanteau of the country's two regions, Allia and Ronland. Allia is a standardised form of the Goyanean name of the country, Alisker. It is unknown where the origins of the name came from.

Ronland comes from a simplified form of Roneske and the pan-Gotic word land, with the former being the Vallish name for the Ronish people. Other names such as Roneskeland are also valid.

Antiquity and ancient history

In antiquity, Alliaronia was primarily composed of South Gotic tribes that had settled within the shores along Friegöndt Bay. Northern Gotic nomads, on their quest of exploration, had arrived in the Alliaronian Plains, coming down from the highly contrasting landscapes of the Gothis alps. The nomads established the city of Æstfolzea by the shores of the Welfenzsee. With a thriving population, the city rapidly grew and quickly expanded, reaching up to the edges of the Fjalmatt river.

As more cities lined up along the banks of the Fjalmatt, the Stadeldre met up in Æstfolzea to create their first nation-state, thus forming the Fjalmatt Confederation (Fjalmattkonføderasjon) in the first meeting of the Fjalmattrat.

Colonial period

Before and during the early 16th century, Goyanean merchants had been in contact with the Fjalmatt Confederation, initiating trades across the Vasterfriesen Alps, with the main hub of goods ending in Gnävengerstad and traded via boat across the settlements downstream. Major contact began with the Goyaneans in mid-1521 in which it submitted to the rapid expansion of the Empire, becoming the Allian Protectorate. The protectorate then became part of the colossal United Kingdoms of Andrenne and Goyanes, under the control of the latter.

In the Ronish tribes down south, the tribes united their small principalities into a one massive confederation in 1620. At the same time, the Allians wanted control of the lower portions of the Welfenzsee, which were predominantly occupied by the confederal kingdoms of the Ronish people. These began a series of wars between the Goyanean protectorate and the ethnic confederation, it being ending on a full-scale military stalemate, prompting both countries to sue for peace in 1709. Three years later, after convincing the rulers of the UKAG, the Allians sent an expeditionary force that annexed East Allia, a region predominantly occupied by Wraessenic people. This primarily decided the territorial shape of the northern and eastern portions of the country.

During the early 19th century, in 1818, the United Kingdoms of Andrenne and Goyanes fell apart, ending an iconic era. Subjects of the UKAG were then properly handed over and regulated within their colonialists, and Allia fell on the control of Goyanes. Now being a full-fledged Goyanean protectorate once again, the Gojans worked on a series of expanding and improving modes of transportation, which were substantially challenging, as the continent comprised heavily of mountainous regions.

Consequently, the end of the UKAG raised questions in the Allian side of things, and many were scared that Goyanes would not be able to handle its shattered geopolitical control. Enmity between the Allians and the Ronish remained even a century after the stalemates of the 17th and 18th centuries, and thus the reliance of Allians to Goyanes was a critically serious matter.

Eventually, Allia campaigned itself to be independent from the 1850s onward,

Modern period

Situated in the southern fringes of Gothis, Alliaronia is known for its contrasting landscape. Most of the country sits in the lowlands of the Alliaronian Plains, bordered by the Vasterfriesen alps and the Greater Nordallian Mountains to the north, and predominantly by the Vallish Alps to the east. With a land area of 346,940 km2 (133,950 sq mi), it is one of the largest countries encompassing Gothis.

The Alliaronian Plains are mostly flatlands, with a few hills and partially high plateaus down south from the Allian region to the Ronlands. The plains are cut by rivers flowing down from the alpine mountain ranges bordering the country, along with freshwater lakes. The Marzsfielde Marshes are one of Alliaronia's boggiest regions, and are often used for agriculture.

Alliaronia is home to two volcanoes located in Vulkanstaat: the extinct Mount Grustraub, and the active Zinnober. The Zinnober has a record of 10 to 15 eruptions a year, mostly of minor concern.

Natural resources found in the mountain ranges and across the flatlands of Alliaronia are iron, coal, timber, copper, natural gas, aluminium, chromium, and others. The boggy Marzsfielde is home to a large supply of reeds and fish, and the coastal regions thrive upon the plentiful aquatic resources around them.
