The Federation of Anatole is a modestly sized nation consisting of 10 States with a population of 150,000,000 located in Anteria. Anatole runs its government in the fashion of a Military Stratocracy. "Stratocracy is a form of government headed by military chiefs. It is not the same as a military dictatorship or military junta where the military's political power is not enforced or even supported by other laws. Rather, stratocracy is a form of military government in which the state and the military are traditionally or constitutionally the same entity, and government positions are always occupied by commissioned officers and military leaders. Citizens with mandatory and/or voluntary military service, or who have been honorably discharged, have the right to elect and/or govern. The military's political power is supported by law, the constitution, and the society. A stratocracy therefore is more often a meritocracy and does not have to be autocratic by nature in order to preserve its right to rule."
There is a distinct difference in Anatole from a Citizen and a Civilian. Citizens by all means are people whom have earned full rights and privileges that any Antilite could hope for. Citizens have served in the military past their required term and have a position and rank in the military structure. Citizens maintain the right to vote, bear firearms, speak freely, and have their education, healthcare, and insurance paid for mostly by the government. After serving at least 10 years, most Citizens can go on to other jobs but still maintain their rank and can be called upon at any time by the Government. Civilians enjoy the right to free speech, but not any of the other benefits listed of Citizens.
The Government is run by 5 branches, External, Internal, Central, Commonwealth, and Intelligence
External: Composes of the Air Force, and Navy and analyses threats from external country and are the first to enact if needed. Internal: Composes of the Army, and keeps up military bases, analyses internal threats from possible extremist terrorist groups, and sorts them out. Central: Composes of the Central Guard which protect important production, population, and government buildings, and also elect leaders and gather votes from citizens Commonwealth: Composes of the Police and Medicinal faculties of the nation. Intelligence: Composes of the National Security Conglomerate, as well as the Research and Development branch of the military. Analyses intelligence and treasonous acts committed by groups inside the nation.
These Five branches are lead by an oligarch, Called the Commanding Chiefs, who elect a leader every 5 years called the Grand Chief General. The Grand Chief General makes the final decisions on every vote made, and leads all military forces in a time of dire need.
