Anya Smirnova (8 June 2028) is an East Europan Child who was born in Neocon-controlled East Europa in the city of Tver. Her parents were placed under protective surveillance as it was discovered that she is both a distant descendant of both Dath'Remar and Thessalonike of Nabataea, making her unique in the eyes of the Neocons. However, her parents were not so lucky as they were terminated following Anya's birth, that they had outlived their use. As a result, she became an orphan and was taken care by Dr. Lê Hoàng Khang, one of the Neocon scientists who performed Bio-Experimentations.
In 2033, she was rescued by Gneisenau Partisans when they ambushed a column that was transporting her and Dr. Le. In this ambush, she was the only survivor. When she was discovered, Gneisenau Partisans immediately took her to their base, where she was air-lifted to Calvard. When she arrived at Schedar Air Base, she caught the attention of Zhanna Kalinina, a female Calvardian soldier. Eventually, Zhanna decided to adopt Anya as her own daughter and would bring her along when she was assigned to Erebonia. Later in the conflict, Zhanna took her along to Ilari.
From 2036, Anya had been subjected to a handful of Neocon operations for her capture. She was captured for a final time in 2037 and was sent to Concordia. Then came the revelation which the Neocons would subsequently discover that she did not possess any abilities such as those that were found from the Seleucid descendants. As a result, she was ordered to be terminated but Task Force 141 personnel, with the assistance of Isabelle Neiper, would rescue her as they destroyed Concordia's biggest bio-experimental facility in Nevada. As they escaped, Isabelle protected Anya from further harm, and defended her and Oboe Company from Isidoro Cicerón de Santa Cruz and his younger sister Asunción using a power called the Scream of the Underworld, though she fainted after it strained her too much.
Following the conflict, she now lives with her surrogate parents and her sister in their Erebonian residence.
