The Armadiera SPEARAM (Self-Propelled Enhanced Anti-RAM) is a gun-missile Counter Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar system developed by Navayelle Systems Inc. It was intended to meet the requirements of the DGMS (Defensive Gun-Missile System) competition held by the Inyurstan Army, and was chosen as the final contender. Armament, radar, electronics and communications were designed by Navayelle Systems Inc. while the chassis of the launcher and radar vehicles were produced by Martel Arms.

It is named after the Armadiera spider, one of the most feared arachnids in Inyursta.

Armament

The primary weapon of the Armadiera is the ADM-144 (also called the 144SV1 on the Liberator SAM system), a medium-short ranged missile that combines track-via-missile guidance with a terminal infrared imaging seeker to accurately engage incoming ordinances head-on. Terminal passive IR guidance allows the missile to operate even when the data link is disrupted or jammed, provided the missile itself has achieved line-of-sight with the target. Each TEL carries six of these warheads. Another key component to the gun-missile system is the RK-35 "Disruptor" cannon, a 3-barreled automatic gatling gun with an rate of fire of approximately 2,700rpm. The normal ammo for the RK-35 is a unitary 35mm DU APDS to ensure quick penetration and destruction of enemy munitions. Tungsten flechette canister rounds can also be utilized to allow for a wider cone of destruction at the cost of less penetration. A fully rotating open-case gun mount allows for the cannon to engage targets in a 360o circle and up to a maximum 75o incline.

Design & Deployment

This system includes two main vehicles, with any number of TEL's or accessory vehicles:

  • TAV-68CM TEL & TAV-68CM1 Control Vehicle
  • V-80 AESA Radar Vehicle
  • Any number of radar emissions decoys or fake TEL's

Both the TEL and control vehicle are based upon the IAV-68 chassis.

A single battery usually consists of one V-80 radar vehicle, along with three live Aramdiera (TAV-68CM) vehicles; giving the defended area three points of gun interception and eighteen medium-short ranged missiles to intercept airborne warheads.
