The Attack Defence Alert System (French: État-alerte Défense anti-attaque), more commonly known by its abbreviation, EAD, is a scale utilised by Ainin's Ministry of the Interior to warn of attacks, terrorism and other threats to the civilian population. The alert level is changed by the Minister of the Interior with the advice of the National Police, Gendarmerie and Intelligence and Security Directorate. It was created in 1999 in response to the 1998 Hartly shootings to streamline law enforcement readiness in regards to crises.

The alert level does not necessarily have to be raised nationwide, and can be applied to any province or prefecture (including prefecture-level cities and province-level prefectures).

As of April 2015, the EAD state is "imminent attack" across Ainin due to the 2015 Hartly bombings.
