The Battle of Akanran took place during the Biulundo conflict in Apatonia on August 21st, 2022. The battle began when a force of over 500 LDF and al-Fijar militants assaulted COB Akanran near the town of Akanran in Lundia province, southeastern Apatonia. The attack was the first loss of life for CCA peacekeepers (CCAMSA) since the January 4th embassy attacks in Sifondo. The attack on the base resulted in 8 Zamastanians, 2 Timerians, 1 Peoratian, and 14 Apatonians killed and 107 wounded while the insurgents suffered an estimated 250 killed.

The facility had been scheduled to be closed within days, part of a wider effort by Apatonian President James Etémé to cede remote outposts and consolidate troops in more populated areas to better protect Lundian civilians from LDF assaults. Sources said the LDF may have been watching the troops make preparations to depart and launched their attack at a time of vulnerability. The LDF were able to use their higher positions to fire into the base, pinning down the troops. As the attack progressed, the troops were forced back when enemy fighters managed to breach the outer perimeter of the outpost.
