The Varturo Line was an Archadian defensive line in Africanna. Having reached the Archadian Line in early August of 1914, it took until mid-October 1914 for the 15th Army Grrup to fight their way to the next line of defences, the Messino Line (Messino Ridge). The line was defended by V Corps and the I Blackshirt Corps with support from the Guado XVI Armato Corps

Like most of the Archadian defensive lines, it ran all the way from the neutral Trabian soil to the Indiean Ocean. The Varturo line composed of lines running over the hill of Ponte Reggio, through the vineyard city of Arielli, San Pietro, The port Al Paglietta, The town of Orsogna and its outskirts, and the road that led to the Messino Ridge.

The line was intended to halt the progress of the Commonwealth Troops to Archadian Arithea.
