CAT-EYE is an infrared & electro-optical search & track (IRST/EOST) developed by Navayelle Systems for use on Inyurstan fighter aircraft. The system was first developed
CAT-EYE I
A straight-forward infrared system, the CAT EYE I is in use with Inyursta's AC-88 Taipan Block II Air-Superiority Fighter and AC-20S2 Hydrophína Fighters. It is optimized to to detect and track fast-moving targets in adverse weather conditions, including low-altitude "heat-spot" heavy environments. It can also be used to track IR emissions-heavy targets such as ballistic missiles and supersonic bombers at longer ranges.
The CAT-EYE I is installed in three additional nodes on the AC-88 Taipan Block II, giving coverage to key aspects of the pilot's blindspot and continuing short-range target tracking even against a highly maneuverable foe.
CAT-EYE II
CAT-EYE II is an advanced electro-optical system optimized for detection and tracking of both aerial and ground targets in extremely adverse conditions; currently in use on the AC/A-20 Crotaléa Strike Fighter and AC/A-92 Night Adder 5th Gen Multirole Fighter. It is installed in 5 nodes (including the forward-looking nose-mounted camera) on the AC/A-20 and in 6 nodes (including the FLNMC) on the AC/A-92, which generations approximately ~270o and 310o multiple-steradian coverage, respectively. Multiple spectrum options are available in a single system, allowing the pilot to select between "palettes" in order to both reduce distraction from specific heat sources and better distinguish targets from clutter.
It can be used to track small-scale missile and gun firing, such as short-range SAMs and artillery guns.
In both aircraft configurations, the CAT-EYE II acts as a missile launch detector (MLD) and missile approach detector (MAD). Built with the Inyurstan doctrine of "single system communication", the CAT-EYE II is also coded to sync information with the radar warning receiver (RWR) and counter-emissions system (CES), allowing the pilot improved situational awareness - and counter-strike capabilities.
CAT-EYE MAAL
CAT-EYE MAAL (Modèle D'Ameliare Aérocraft Legadaçéa) or "Legacy Aircraft Upgrade Model", is an externally-mounted pod version for use in Inyursta's 3.5th Generation AC/A-83 Bocaracá Multirole Fighters, allowing the aging fighters a short-range IRST option.
