Catrin Brock (Catrin Ermengard Brock; born 2 October, 1978) has served as the First Reeve of Osynstry since 2020. She also served as a Minister between 2006 and 2018. She identifies as a moderate, and has spoken out against the "encroachment of the left" on the party she is a member of, the Social Democrats.
As First Reeve of Osynstry, she has promoted diversity in the devolved government, brought back world religions in Osynstric school curriculums and co-operated with other devolved governments to provide sanitary products for free. She continued the right-liberal Thrupp redery's programme to allow private contracts in public sectors, however lost a legal battle with the Government over jurisdiction therewith, leading to the programme being revoked in 2022.
Brock's supporters have praised her ability to bring Moderate (and formerly Conservative) voters to her side, but critics have cited a large third party vote on the left - mostly behind Green-Left - and depressed turnout due to her low popularity amongst youth voters and core Social Democrats.
Early life
Brock was born in inner-city Denewent, south-west Osynstry, in 1978.
Political career
Brock was elected as First Reeve of Osynstry following the resignation of Edgar Thrupp, the upset Independent winner of the 2016 Osynstric national election, in 2020.
Political positions
Identifying as a "liberal social democrat", she has been positioned on the right of the party. She supports the government's "open arms, open borders" policy and has co-operated extensively with the Osborne administration in executing this, unlike the Norwall Althing, who have opposed it fiercely and threatened legal action.
Personal life
Brock identifies as an agnostic. She lives with her husband Theo, and has two dogs.
