Death
Katherine I approved a proposal by the Bureau Bijzondere Opdrachten (BBO), to launch Operation Paardensprong to eliminate General Seyffradt and other key TRIWA personnel. BBO agents gave the order to resistance groups in Atmora to commence the operation. At 0457 30 April 1944, Maurits Verleun and Karel Kastein members of the Staatsgeheime Leger shot Viscount Seyffardt three times when he answered his front door. Seyffardt was rushed to the hospital but would later succumb to his wounds the following morning.
When Louwrens van Geuzendam heard of the assassination of Viscount Seyffardt in Larsenburg, he ordered General Eldert van den Ploer of the Openbare Weermacht to locate Staatsgeheime Leger and Nationale Koninklijke Beweging agents within Larsenburg resulting in the 1944 Oirschot massacre.
