2nd American Revolution

May 1st Rising

El Monte, South El Monte, Rosemead, West Covina, and Baldwin Park all liberated by SWRF Forces, with federal police units being overwhelmed by the hastily organized motorcycle units of the SWRF. With the Rising in full swing a military government was established in the City of El Monte with all of its surrounding cities being liberated just the same. With this, all of the cities listed above were declared Free Communes of the SouthWestern Revolutionary Front under the direction of the SouthWestern Revolutionary Command with civilian governments consisting of city councils elected directly by civilians being propped up for the sake of appearances. (May 1st - May 5th) Initial issues with organizations, revolt of Long Beach, as well as the Front effectively fighting for its life against local Federal Garrisons. (May 6th - 15th). Purge of the DSA, Liberal, and Federal Remnants of Government and organizations throughout the Free Communes of the SWRF through Operation: Cleaver. Operation: Cleaver was the method of Morales to strike against immediate threats to his power during the initial weeks of the May First Rising, through means of effective combat squads, the main heads of organizations declared too reactionary to exist any further were rounded up, and their organizations cleaved. This roundup was used as a method to find loyalists to the Revolutionary cause, and form a clique of competent, yet loyal members of the Front. Operation: Clean Sweep was an operation taking place on May 24th and officially ending on June 5th. It’s goal was to reach what was referred to as some of the Medical and Industrial cores of the Los Angeles County region to the Front’s east, though in reality it was to reach the city of Chino and bring its numerous downtrodden inhabitants under the Banner of the Front so they may boost it’s manpower capabilities. It success was there, in which the city of Chino and the surrounding areas were liberated and declared Free Communes of the Front, as well as reaching the secondary objective of the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center and making it to the outskirts of the second one close by, which marked 2 medical centers for the Front, though most of the Industry was sabotaged by Federal Forces as the Front advanced leading to that objective being somewhat fulfilled though had the front been faster it would’ve gained control of all of the industrial sites without much issue, eventually those industries would be repaired and make the very basis of the SWRF industrial capabilities. The Second Operation, Operation: Chispa or Operation: Spark was an operation which took place from June 6th to July 3rd and was initially the plan to rush down the local Federal forces in the regions closest to Northern Los Angeles Proper and attempt to take Los Angeles and declare it a Free Commune, though as the Operation continued on the officers who were assigned to said operation continuously ordered suicidal charges as in line with the offical Doctine of the SWRF being Mass Assault and Mass Combat, and though while the loyalty to the front was appreciated by it’s leadership, it forced the lines to stall in Glendale and Monterry Park, just on the outskirts of East LA and Northern Los Angeles, whose inhabitants poured over as refugees and partisans who favored the SWRF.

The results of both these operations left enough territory, men, and industry for the Front to consider taking Los Angeles, in which the operation to breach the Los Angeles River was drawn up, coming to be known as Operation: Sunrise, or as it’s better known today. The 26th of July Offensive.

26th of July Offensive

The offensive took much extensive planning, and even forced the Front to cooperate with the Anarchists who had organized their own revolt in Long beach 2 weeks following May 1st. The Front entered Negotiations with the Free Territory of Greater Long Beach through a secure network of backwater communications, otherwise known as the Combined Syndicates Discord server, in which an agreement was struck over the territories both would take as the Free Territories were having issues taking land for themselves as they had been subject to constant coastal harassment from the Federal Navy, whatever of it which wasn’t in Mutiny. The Front would be able to take Los Angeles proper so long as they aided the territories in gaining the lands as far Northwest as Redondo Beach, reaching as South East as Huntington Beach, and reaching as far Northwards as the cities of Carson, Lakewood, Los Alamitos and Westmintster, then the Free Territories would aid the Front in taking Los Angeles. At first the demanding posture of the Free Territories Makhno larper known as Comandante Union angered Morales though eventually seeing as the two had history he agreed to the terms, so long as the Front wouldn’t face harassment, both militarily and politically. To which the Free Territories agreed. Thus the plans were drawn up, using a doctrine known as the Reformed Deep Battle Doctrine which followed an idea more or less similar to that of the Soviet method of Deep Battle though stressing less the combined Arms initiative but more of abusing a weak link in the line of the enemy and then sending in calvary and mechanized units to continuously exploit the broken line with infantry backing the line and pushing for strategic points with areas relating to supply capabilities taking severe priority above all else, which Morales had been developing on the side while the Front drew up further War Plans, in the end it was the Doctrine which replaced the Mass Assault and Mass Combat Doctrine, and in 2 weeks time the Operation was ready. As well as in those 2 weeks of time many of the Front’s Partisans had continuously gone into the city and spread agitation propaganda across the city, bringing more to the manpower stockpiles of the Front everyday. One partisan even being as ballsy as to read aloud over every speaker they could the Manifesto written by Morales.

The Operation declared in effect at 11:57 PM on July 25th, in the dead of night and in the early hours of the Morning on July 26th the soldiers of the Front moved to the most Northern areas of Los Angeles and East Los Angeles and began cyber attacks on the artificial pieces of Federal Equipment and harassing Federal Units placed around the borders of the city to do patrol activity. The Front wanted the Feds to know they were there and they wanted a fight. With Operation Sunset in full swing by the afternoon of the 26th, the forces of the SWRF crashed constantly against federal barricades over and over again, yet the barricades held, it took to arrival of Jeeps and Cavalry units to break the initial barricades which Federal forces had set up on the outskirts and from there the fighting developed into sheer brutality, with street to street fighting being the normality and the necessity to take barricade after barricade being the normality of battle. Though the Front didn’t have much to speak of in the forms of Artillery what it did have was some left over jets and aircraft from the airports it had captured and though those jets didn’t have combat operational capabilities, at least not most, they did help scare the feds out of some of their positions. Meanwhile the Free Territory of Greater Long Beach had reached most of their objectives as the fighting in Los Angeles proper was enough to bring most of the Feds forces into the city in order to prevent it’s capture, with that the Free Territory sent enough of a force not to make a difference but to harass federal forces in the South as the Front attempts to take the rest of the East, to which the Front began to succeed, from Montebello the Front moved onto East LA where its citizens welcomed them as liberators. As the days continued on and the casualties mounted the fighting continued to grow in brutality, stories of the hand to hand combat and of continuous animalistic activity and duels in the streets striking fear into both Federal and Revolutionary Soldiers. After two weeks Federal Forces brought in armored units which tore through the units based in the Northern areas and left the ability of the Operation to continue up in the air, for a week the forces of the SWRF fought desperately for the ground they had gained against the Federal Armored units. Though eventually with more forces from the Free territory dedicated to the Southern Offensive the forces of the SWRF in the north were free to begin counter-offensives against the rest of the Armored and Infantry units and began making further ground. By the end of August the battle had divulged into clean up by SWRF forces and seizure of Federal equipment, as well as propaganda opportunities, such as a SWRF Calvary unit chasing down a Federal M1 Abrams as it was damaged and out of ammunition. The Offensive lasted from the 26th of July to the 30th of August, 5 weeks of brutal Urban warfare. Sufficient to say that the SWRF had secured Los Angeles, though not without the mountains of casualties in of itself.

There was much to be done. With the seizure of the Los Angeles county area by the SWRF and the Southern areas of the Coast by the Free territory of Greater Long Beach, the SWRF was free to establish a true political force to represent the peoples of the Southwest and that brought about the formation and founding of the Southwestern Communist League, the SWCL, which was quite frankly just a Communist party of the Southwest under a different name, officially establishing a Politburo and full organization of Labor Unions, and bringing the Free Communes of the SWRF under the organization of the Politburo and the SouthWestern Communist League. With this clean up of the politics of the region, the Front was free to reorganize itself and reformed the military under the Proper Military doctrine of the age. With proper Divisions instead of the Militias they had been using since the rising, numbering in 20 divisions of 7 Well trained and combat hardened units, and 13 newly conscripted divisions, as well as a proper name for the Army, the Workers and Farmers’ Red Army of the SouthWest, or it’s more affectionate name, The Red Army, as well as proper organization of the Air Force seeing as they had found some combat capable aircraft in Los Angeles. As well as fully establishing a government, under the title of the SouthWestern Revolutionary Command, (SWRC), responsible for taking up the mantle of leadership until the revolution concluded. The SWRC was the full head of SWRF with the SWCL being sidelined to mere production insurance, under the Marxist Unity League, and the SWRC Falling to most control of the Revolutionary Army of Aztlan and the Worldless Soldiers. Thus completing the clean up of both the Front and Los Angeles. In the time the Anarchists attacked the Feds in the weeks following the 26th of July Offensive, the Front licked its wounds by restablishing its place within the Greater Los Angeles county and area. It built up the City of Los Angeles to become a center of revolutionary fervor and command. That included nation building, and the drafting of far more operations, in which three were drafted, one for a general push to the Northeast which included Morales’ plan for Beverly Hills, a push towards San Diego and the meeting at the Mexican border to see if there could be any prospects for the front at the border, and finally preparations to take Las Vegas, the shining jewel of the Mojave. These were drafted as Operation: Neptune, Operation: Typhoon, and Operation: Mars. We shall touch upon the events of Operation: Neptune first.

Operation: Neptune was an operation which took place in the period of September 18th to September 22nd and was split into two parts, In which the Front seized the opportunity to rush into the fleeing refugee center and PMC hotbed that was becoming of Beverly Hills. In that time the recently established People's Commissariat of Agitation and Propaganda (PCAP) was given its first real opportunity to showcase what it could do, even being given the opportunity to title the second part of the Operation, Operation: Shattered Chandelier. They painted a scene so vividly clear within the Minds of the people that many could describe the righteous violence upon the people of Beverly Hills just on the wim. Though of course as most know now thanks to the Sacramento Trials, Beverly Hills was a massacre and an example in which revolutionary violence at times may go too far. Though all in all Operation: Neptune was a successful Operation, with an unintended consequence was that of a Nuclear powered Submarine, known as the Aликорн (Alikorn), and its Russian crew, who had sympathies towards the Communist cause of the SWRF and decided to sail from Vladivostok to Santa Monica to aid the Latin American Revolutionaries. They had been skirmishing with Federal forces since the 26th of July Offensive, even making it so far as to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and now had received relief from the SWRF, who they joined in.

Operation: Typhoon was an operation which took place in the period of October 8th to December 15th. Its plan was to march southwards with the aid of the Free Territory of Greater Long Beach and seize San Diego for the Front, and march further until meeting the Mexican border to check for the prospects of Revolutionary activity there. Though this Operation would go far off of the original plan. Due to complications within the Free Territory the had to pull back from the Operation and according to them, handle things domestically, no doubt they simply wished to backstab the front, but no matter the Front continued onward towards San Diego with their new Nuclear Submarine doing some scouting in the coasts to get a feel for how the Navy’s Mutiny in San Diego was going. As was evident, there was still fighting going on, with some of the Ships docked in port finally getting around to the mutiny by the time the front had shown up. As such the Front ordered much of their forces to March and drive down the I5 and I15 Freeways to both keep the federal forces running back to San Diego and to ensure the Front grew much, much more down the way. There were originally 8 divisions of the Front’s 20 assigned to Operation: Typhoon however only 6 of 8 assigned would make it to San Diego without being left behind for occupational duties, and of these 6, only 3 of them had seen actual combat. Using intel from the recon activity from the now lovingly named Battle group Poseidon, the name of the Russian Submarine and what ships could be taken from Los Angeles, specifically 6 civilian vessels with Machine guns strapped on them, the Operation fully commenced with the same relative tactics as Los Angeles, looking for Federal barricades, looking for weak points in said Barricades and pushing through them with the aid of Close Air Support from the North. Heavy casualties would be felt on both sides, with those three divisions of SWRF forces getting a taste for combat, and learning from their initial stupidity, and winning the complete support from the Navy Mutinies who established the Free Commune of San Diego as soon as they made their way to the city hall, officially signing San Diego into the hands of the SWRF. The fighting would continue constantly until the feds were finally pushed out of their last stronghold in Alpine on the I8 freeway on the 14th of December, finally the Southwestern Coast was fully liberated, one way or another. Though there was one more thing which needed to be handled and that was Mexico, the SWRF eyed up Tijuana and like Pancho Villa before them, they got on their horses, or boarded their jeeps and trucks, and raided the city for supplies. Seeing as the inhabitants of Tijuana had aided Federal Forces, they figured it was righteous retribution for their aid to their enemies, much like Beverly Hills.

Mojave Campaign

Operation: Mars was an operation which took place in the period of January 1st to May 31st. Upon the Front once more reorganizing itself further by establishing a Navy, known officially as The People's Revolutionary Navy, and unofficially as Battle group Poseidon, and furthermore drafting up more divisions bringing the total number of Divisions under the SWRF to 27. The time had come, Las Vegas was to fall. The plan was thus, force the Feds continuously back until their backs were to the wall that was Vegas. From there it was simple, secure Vegas. The operation was officially given the green light at 4 in the morning on New Year's Day, and while the irregulars were still partying in their camps on the front lines, the 10 Veteran Divisions assigned to the Operation known as Army Group Legion forced their way down up north on the I15 from San Bernardino, beginning what Veterans of the SWRF will tell you was the Long March North. For a month continuous skirmishes continued on the I15 until the Federal forces met the Border of Nevada, where they made stand after stand forcing back SWRF forces until they were forced to reorganize and rethink their advance. This was in late February, come March Army Group Legion reorganized and crashed once more into Federal Lines and broke them, leaving Vegas open for open warfare. Devolving into street to street combat for 3 months, following the I15 as a path to occupy Vegas, with casualties being similar to that of San Diego. In the end Vegas would be taken on the Eve of May 31st, 30 days after the anniversary of the May 1st Rising.

Phoenix Campaign

Operation: Ash was an operation which took place in the period of February 10th to June 18th. It was the result of Operation Mars taking far too long in the opinion of the Comandante Morales and as such Operation: Ash was drafted incredibly quickly, rushed even, to take place within the 10 days period Morales had given his commanders. As such it had much of the same tactics as Vegas, chasing the Feds down the I10 from Riverside and the I8 freeways, and approaching the city of Phoenix, This Army Ground was code named, Firefighter, for the sake of the irony of Arizona having no water. Though there were more Divisions set to this Front, numbering in 13 total, which would be argued was the main reason why the Front was able to force their way to Phoenix much faster than those in Army Group Legion taking Vegas. For the same period of 5 months the Operation continued on until the fateful day of June 18th, in which the Front fully forced the feds off of the city, making the perfect birthday present for the leader of the SWRF himself K.Morales. Who is quoted as stating, “What a glorious present, to be given a city. Only the Greats of Alexander and Caesar can compare in the majesty of such a gift.”
