Connie, Duchess of Clarence and St Andrews, 1st Viscountess Nielsen (Connie Inge-Lise Nielsen; born 3 July 1965) is a Danish member of the British royal family. A humanitarian and former actress, she was initially engaged to King William VI, prior to a peaceful separation several years and later a subsequent marriage with the King's brother, the Duke of Clarence and St Andrews, with whom she has three childrens.
While peerages in the United Kingdom has been traditionally granted to British-born citizens, she was made a viscountess however following her separation from the King as she had already been given a British citizenship alongside her native Danish citizenship. She has since been consistently involved in humanitarian efforts concerning the war in Syria and Libya, and has occasionally undertook several successful acting roles following her marriage.
