The Cymru Futball Association, or CFA, was founded 3 December, 2015, following the signing of the Cymry Culture Act by Mab Darogan Waywffon Morgan. The CFA was created to establish and manage men's, and eventually women's professional futball leagues, as well as create and enforce rules for players and clubs. The CFA created two leagues, the Cymru Premier League, and the Cymru Second League, but at the beginning of the 2019/20 season changed Cymru to its English translation "Welsh" for international marketing purposes. A Women's league was set to be created in 2019, but only 5 clubs registered, so the leagues creation was postponed until 2020.

Structure and format

International Play

The Cymru Futball Association gathers the nations best players every summer, and registers them in international friendlies. The most famous of these was a friendly against Zamastan, where excited crowds set of seismic sensors.

Controversy

The CFA has seen much backlash since its creation in 2015. The first was the appointment of Chad Ramsey, a half Prydanian as Chairman. Little could be done as it was a lower government position, but protests lasted for three days.

When the CFA re-branded the leagues as Welsh for international marketing purposes in 2019, many people protested, as Welsh was a slang term used by the Prydainians.

Lastly, after the postponing of a Women's Futball League, the CFA allowed several foreign businesses to operate Women's clubs, though the players had to be Cymry citizens.
