Princess Elbareth Arthurius, Duchess of Kingston, is the eldest child of the current Lord Protector of Arthurista, Gareth II, and Princess Jane of Ghant. She is the current heir-apparent to the Shield.
Early life and education
In 2005, the sixteen year old Elbareth caused a brief flurry of media attention with her decision to become a follower of Jainkozaharra She is the first known non-Christian member of the House of Arthurius and will be the first Lady Protector who is not a member of the Catholic Church or the Church of Arthurista in the nation's history if she is to assume the Shield as planned.
She read physics and political science as a double degree at the University of Kingston, graduating with Upper Second Honours.
Military career
Elbareth obtained a commission the Commonwealth Air Force in 2012 and trained as a fast jet pilot. She has since qualified to fly the UFC F-29 Hurricane. During the Latin succession crisis of 2016, she and a wingman detected a four-ship flight of pro-Michael AMX attack aircraft which were attempting to engage advancing loyalist forces. They surprised the rebel aircraft from above and destroyed all four with missiles and guns, a feat for which she was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. She currently serves under the name and rank of Flight Lieutenant Elbareth Kingston.
Activities
She is known for her eloquence and outspokenness on many social issues, which endeared her to many and contributed to her image as the conscientious youth role-model. It also caused controversy in some quarters, with questions being raised over whether she would clash with the elected government over certain policies as Lady Protector if she doesn't 'mellow out' with maturity.
Elbareth is a martial arts enthusiast, having obtained the rank of second degree black belt in Nankai Kenpo, as well as cross-training in jiujitsu and boxing. She is a noted participant in numerous amateur kickboxing and mixed martial arts competitions.
