Embassy of Luziyca, Namo
Template:Infobox Historic Site The Embassy of Luziyca, Namo (Namorese: Лугук га Намора Имингука Даисикан, Luziycan: Posolsto i Kristen Respublika i Luziyca till Populi Respublika i Namor) is a building in Embassies' Section of Namo that represents the interests of the Christian Republic of Luziyca in the People's Republic of Namor. Located on the western end of Peace Boulevard, the embassy is also known in Namor by its address, 1 Peace Boulevard (Хопингге 1-хо).
History
The Embassy of Luziyca is one of the few embassies to have always been at what is now Embassies' Section. Since Namor (then ruled by the Hào Dynasty) and Luziyca first established relations in 1899 (right after the First Namo-Luziycan War), a mansion about thrice the size of the current embassy grounds was built to accommodate the Luziycan ambassador and other Luziycan diplomats. By its completion in 1901 it was the largest embassy in Namor, about three-fourths the size of the Sky Palace, the residence of the Namorese emperor.
The mansion lasted until 1937, when Chorean troops took over Namo and overran the embassy of Luziyca, which it was already at war with. The mansion was transformed from an embassy to a residence for Chorean military commanders. The Chorean army defaced the building before the Chorean government surrendered. The Luziycan diplomatic mission to Namor subsequently moved from Nozama City (the wartime capital of the Republic of Namor back to Namo, and reconstruction of the mansion began.
Reconstruction of the embassy was costly and fueled resentment among Namo residents against both the East Luziycan and Republican Namorese authorities who were financing it. Reconstruction stalled at around 1948, and by 1949 the East Luziycans had evacuated the embassy due to speculations that the Republican government would succumb to the Liberationists. Indeed, Namo fell to the Liberationists in 1950 and East Luziyca refused to recognize the new People's Republic. The Liberationists dismantled parts of the incomplete embassy and cut the size of the embassy grounds in half (one half went to the new embassy and the other half was redistributed to nearby residents).
Control of the Luziycan embassy returned completely to the Namorese government after 1991, with the Reunification of Luziyca and the severing of diplomatic ties between Namor and the new Luziycan government. More land was sold off to local residents. Part of the area was subsequently transformed into a public parking lot managed by the Namo Municipal Government.
When Namor and Luziyca reestablished diplomatic ties in 2013, the Namorese government agreed to renovate the Luziycan embassy in where it once stood. The embassy was completed by the end of the year.
