Førelskov, officially the State of Førelskov, is a constituent state of Delkora. It is the third largest state by area and the second largest by population. Its capital and largest city is Gothendral.

Geography

Førelskov is located in northern Delkora, encompassing a large portion of the country's northern coast. It is bordered by Banderhus to the west, Vassengård to the south, and Cybria to the east, in addition to sharing a marine boundary with Lebøvenland to the north. The Grymvar Mountains traverse the northeastern parts of the state, continuing across the border with Cybria. The northernmost regions are very urban and industrial, while the south is largely rural and features rolling hills. The capital, Gothendral, is the second largest city in Delkora and located on the northern coast.

Demographics

As of the 2020 Federal Census, Førelskov is the second largest Delkoran state by population, with over 22 million residents. In recent decades, it has been faced with an aging population and relatively slow population growth compared to other Delkoran states.

Economy

Historically, the economy of Førelskov was dominated by heavy industry concentrated primarily on the northern coast, leading to that region becoming known as "the steel strip" (stålstrimlen). Manufacturing has since been eclipsed by the service industry as the largest share of the state economy, although it continues to be significant. The state hosts the Halmodryn Steel Works, the largest integrated steel mill in Delkora. Other major industries include mining, automobile and aircraft manufacturing, and shipbuilding. Førelskov's share of national GDP amounts to 23.6%.

Government and politics

Førelskov is considered a bellwether state. Northern Førelskov is a National Labor stronghold, while the Liberals perform well in the southern part of the state, and the Conservatives are competitive in rural areas and wealthy suburbs.

The current first minister of Førelskov is Anjela Hansen, a member of the Liberal Party. The state legislature is the 250 seat Førelskov Assembly. The Constitutional Court of Førelskov is the highest judicial authority under state law, responsible for interpreting the state's constitution.
