Fidél Égető

Fidél Égető was a statesman and a prominent revolutionary who became the Governor of the Western Nationalist Government during the Citizenry Uprising. He served as the Chairman of the Western Movement Party prior to the Citizenry Uprising and was a regular partisan beforehand during the Néma Forradalom. He was the chairman of the First Congress of Nagymező and an important figure in the Second Congress of Nagymező. He was one of the main writers of the Armistice of Nagymező that would set the framework for the Treaty of Nagymező.

Égető was born to an native Sió family in Andrássy, and graduated from the University of Andrássy Metro. He later worked for the Collectivist Party, the Noble Democratic Party and the Citizens Rights Coalition as a journalist. He worked as a collectivist for 4 years, meeting János Szabó in the process. He worked for the Noble Democrats for 3 years, and as a Coalitionist for 1 year before being hired by the Ándrassic Local Kuratórium as a record keeper. Égető was one of the many witnesses within the Kuratórium when the Andrássy Riot happened under Horvath Ákos and the 2nd Andrássic Rendőrség Division. After the beginning of the Néma Forradalom and in the aftermath of the Andrássy Riot, Égető was one of the many journalists present to write about the Zgismond Abdication. After the abdication and the announcement of the 1909 Népkormany election, Égető became a member of the rising Blue Movement Party and ran to be one of the representatives of Andrássy District, eventually winning the election with the other Blue Movement Party.
