Filir is the goddess of healing and represent the feminine aspects of healing, as such so is she the goddess of natural healing and healing herbs.

Birth

Fil and Filir are twins and were said to be born when the old rosetouched healer Ygral was slain by a cruel Wharen mage-king when he was travelling in his land and healing the slaves living under his tyranny. The gods who saw this took the corpse on the order of Rasmer, they mixed his blood and seed with white moss growing deep in the forest, leaches from the river and honey from the trees and light the mixture ablaze, for nine days and nine nights did the fire burn but when the last ember faded so did two young people emerge from the ash and were given the name Fil and Filir by their fellow gods.

Filir in the sagas

Filir and Fil are both very similar and feminine in their attitude and appearance, however so are Fil chaste but Filir on the other hand are well known for being more lustful according to the worldview that men are supposed to be chaste and women are the ones that is supposed to be the ones with the bigger sexual appetite. This means that she is the mother of several children with several lovers, both mortal and divine.

Worship of Filir

Filir and her brother are worshipped during the healing of an individual, Filir is often worshipped during the healing process while her brother is worshipped for surgery and as the patron for medical instrument. When a person is laying bedridden so is a painting of Filir put above the sick or injured person to help them to heal quicker and in the old day was prayers to Filir sung when medical herbs were picked.
