Geography
Location,borders and area
Gerzidie is located in the north of Primeria. In fact, it is the northernmost country in the world. The only neighbouring country is Caspbrug. It shares a border of approximatively 40 km, in the east. Most of the country have a coastline. Gerzidie is a medium sized country, with an area of 27 208 sq. km.
Topography and hydrography
Most of the river of the country have their sources in the Auray mounts, in the middle of the country. However, the longest river in the country is the Gwilen, and flows in the eastern part of the country, passing for example in Redon (the capital city), Feugeris, Vitriac and Rothennes. The other major rivers are: the Blavezh (major cities Pontivi and Vennes), the Pouldu (major city Anhoriant), the Odaix (major cities Kemper and Conquaret), the Leger (major cities Gwengamp and Lanuizon), the Gouéd (major city Sanbérieu) and the Renk (major city Dinam).
Spatial distribution of people
The population of Gerzidie is mainly living in cities or villages near the coast. The inland is poorer and living conditions are harder due to lack of roads or railway, and because of the rolling hills. Pontivi is the only "big" city in the hinterland. Road and Transportation
The roads and railways of Gerzidie are very concentrated around the coasts and do not really sink into the land. Indeed, many small lines that served the center of the country have closed, due to a lack of profitability in the eyes of the state. The "Compagnie Nationale des Chemins de Fer de Gerzidie", the main operator of the country’s network, is owned by the state. Since its nationalization in 1950, the train has continuously lost customers, at the expense of the car, having made its appearance in the country during the Great War, and immediately became a great success. The country has also been relying on air transport. The country built its first international airport in 2001. It is located in Redon, the capital and allows to reach many destinations around the world. Since the end of the war, the road network of Gerzidie has been constantly improved and expanded. The "Trans-Gerzidienne" is a route without speed limit, going around the country, from Redon, and crossing the major cities of the country. However, the interior of the country has not seen any improvement in its road network. This one is still the same since before the war, and tends to deteriorate.
