Grand Prince George, Duke of Chalcedon (George Manuel Troadinos Troadinos-Herakleides; b. 6 April, 1969) is the second son and heir to the Elena II and her late husband PLACEHOLDER. At the time of his birth he was second in the line of succession to the Celestial throne; currently he is eleventh. His mother, Elena II, is the current monarch of Mesogeia. Upon his birth George, was granted the title Duke of Chalcedon a title traditionally granted to the second son of a reigning sovereign when available.
Since gradating from the Imperial Naval Academy in 1991, the Duke has held various offices in the Imperial navy. In 2010 he succeeded his late father as Grand Admiral when he died. In 1988 he married the fabulously wealthy Penelope Troadinos-Opsikios, heiress to the Prince of Opsikion; the couple have four children.
Early life
George was born on 6 April, 1969 at the Imperial palace of Bosphoros, during the reign of his mother. Nine days following his birth the Imperial court announced his nae to be George Troadinos.
In 1969 months after his birth George was granted the title Duke of Chalcedon, the traditional title granted to second sons of the sovereign. The title had been granted a total of eight times, with the last holder dying in the 19th century.
In 1987 after completing his education at Megasaula College, the Imperial Court announced that his Imperial highness would be joining the Imperial Navy. The Duke attended the Imperial Naval Academy under the assumed name George Troadinos, completing his naval training in 1991.
From 1991 to 2003, George actively served in the Imperial Navy holding various ranks throughout his many years of service. In 2003 he was promoted to the rank of Nauarchos. Three years later in 2006 he was made Droungarokomēs. He was raised to the position of Grand Droungarios of the Fleet, the second highest naval rank in 2008. At the death of his father in 2010, he was appointed to the vacant position of Megas Doux, the de-facto Grand Admiral of the Imperial Fleet.
Personal life
The Duke of Chalcedon first met Penelope Troadinos, eldest daughter to the Prince of Opsikion in 1985 at the annual Ball at court, an intimate reception held for seven-hundred of the crème de la crème of Mesogeian society; the duke and Penelope were sixteen and fourteen respectively. The two quickly became friends, the fact that the two were distantly related was only a added bonus. A romance between the two was encouraged by the imperial court with the two becoming closer over the couple years leading up to their engagement.
In 1987 the Imperial Court announced that the Duke was engaged to Lady Penelope Troadinos-Opsikios. After a year long engagement the two were married in the Hagia Triada Cathedral on 15 April 1988. The couple welcomed their first child George-Henri in 1990.
