The Grand Sachem Conventions are a series of treaties, protocols, and other international agreements that make up the bedrock of international law in Aeia. The conventions are named after the capital city of the Free States of Liberimery, Grand Sachem, where much of the drafting of the various agreements took place. Despite being collectively known as the Grand Sachem Conventions, the agreements are for the most part distinctly separate from each other. They were negotiated, signed, and ratified by different countries over a time period spanning more than a century.

The Conventions on the Laws of the Seas

The Conventions on the Laws of the Seas was negotiated in the late 1970s following several disputes throughout the world involving freedom of navigation, territorial waters, and economic rights. The CLS was signed by ___ countries in 1981 and has been ratified by ___ signatories. The CLS is the second youngest of the conventions, however it has one of the highest amount of ratifiers.

The Convention on the Laws of Outer Space

The Convention on the Laws of Outer Space was negotiated in the early 1960s and first ratified in 1966 by ___. It has since been ratified by ___ countries. The convention concerns how nations interact with each other in regards to outer space. All major nations that have an active and robust space monitoring, research, and exploration agency as signatories and ratifiers of the convention.

The Convention on Polar Frigidarum

The Convention on Polar Frigidarum is the most recent of the conventions to be negotiated which was in late 1980s. This convention also involved the fewest nations as it was limited in scope to only nations that had pre-existing claims on the continent of Frigidarum and a few states that were capable of making claims. While the negotiating and initial signing was limited to those nations, the conventions have since been available for any nation to sign and ratify though few outside the original ten countries have done so.

The Convention on the Laws of Civil Aviation

The Convention on the Laws of Civil Aviation governs the rules and regulations of international air travel and trade. The convention was negotiated in 1972 and was later signed in 1973. The CLCA has nearly all nations on Aeia as ratifiers as non-ratification would essentially mean the total lack of any international flights in and out of that nation's airspace.

The Conventions on Human Rights

The Conventions on Human Rights is a series of agreements regarding human rights. The conventions have no enforcement mechanism and while many of the nations of Aeia are signatories to the conventions there have been very few ratifiers. The CHR is often used by non-governmental organizations as a symbolic representation of the rights of all humans and criticize governments for failing to adhere to its articles.

The Conventions on the Status of Warfare

The Conventions on the Status of Warfare are several treaties that seek to lay out what are the responsibilities, duties, and restrictions placed on states during war. The first of the Conventions on the Status of Warfare came into effect in the period following the Great War in 1904. There have been additional treaties and protocols added to the original convention since then. Ratification of one of the conventions does not necessarily mean ratification of all of them. The original convention was limited mostly to the nations of Asura and Vestrim who partook in the Great War, but it was a short time later opened up to all nations on Aeia.

The Conventions on the Status of States

The Conventions on the Status of States was the first series of treaties that introduced the concepts of sovereignty and diplomatic immunity to Aeia. It was originally signed between nations in Asura and Vestrim, but later included nations from all over Aeia.
