The Hallandic Armed Forces, also known as Commonwealth Armed Forces, are the military forces of the State of Halland. They are composed of the Army, the Navy, the Marines and the Air Force. The Armed Forces are responsible for the defence of Halland and the promotion of its geopolitical interests internationally. Additionally, they partake in various humanitarian relief efforts all across the world. The President of Halland is commander-in-chief and administration is jointly administered by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Joint Chiefs of Staff are composed of the President, the Minister of Defence, the Chiefs of Staff of each of Halland's four arms, a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a Vice-Chairman. Contrary to popular belief, the Hallandic Coast Guard are not part of the Armed Forces, instead being administered by the Ministry of Interior.

Commonwealth Navy

The Commonwealth Navy is one of the world's largest navies and the largest navy in Asteria in terms of fleet tonnage. As of 2019, the Navy operates a total of 119 vessels (including minor auxiliary vessels), including 2 Aircraft Carriers, 3 Amphibious Assault Ships, 3 Amphibious Transport Docks, 21 Destroyers, 9 Frigates, 5 Corvettes, 22 Patrol Ships, 14 MCMVs, 25 Auxiliary Vessls, 4 Nuclear Attack Submarines and 11 Attack Submarines. Additionally, three non-comissioned historical ships are kept afloat and mantained as museum ships, CN Leon, CN Leonard Kelly and CN Independence.

The list does not include vessels operated by Halland's Coast Guard or those operated by the Commonwealth Marines. The Auxiliary Navy is also bolstered by civilian vessels in support of naval operations when necessary. Most crew in the Auxiliary navy is of civillian background. Other than these ships, Halland sustains some retired vessels in the Reserve fleet, where ships are maintained sufficiently to return to active service in 6 months when needed in times of war.
