Helgaild or holy flames are a very important part of the holy chronological faith and is used in most sects even if it refers to two different sets of fires in Draktra compared to the other sects. The fire is however very important in holy chronological services as it is by this fire that sacrifices to the divine gods are made and it is with fire like this that the dead are cremated. In theory so are the fires all supposed to be from the same ancestral flame and just having been light there and then rekindled in temples far away. Some people argues that from this practice the monotheistic views of the EinIld faith and their slogan "how many flames are there but one?" came from but it is still debated amongst scholars. However besides sacrifices and cremations so are the idea of the holy fries as a cleansing and purifying ideal very common in the holy chronicles and several rituals are common amongst the clergy to ceremonially burn themselves to purify themselves and several rituals for cleansing in the case of demonic possession and undead also involves fires. Similarly so are fire also used to destroy venerable items like holy books and symbols that have been too damaged to repair.
Mainstream Helgaild
The mainstream helgaild comes from the funeral pyre that were light for the old Imerian hero Imer the great when he died, what makes it so holy is not the revered status of Imer even if that helped a lot but the fact that the fire was light by Rasmer the king of gods and god of kings so according to the chronological doctrine so are all fires in all the temples of the holy chronicles originally light by the god and this is common even amongst the shamans of andedyrkare and in the ocean worshipping temples of Arv in Jarnta.
Draktra Helgaild
While the concept of the holy fire is the same in Draktra as all the others so do they use a different ancestral fire from the other sects and instead do they use the flame breath of the dragon god Drakoor and while they also say that all dragonfire is Helgaild and comes from the breath of Drakoor so does their temples use the same flame rather than just light new ones with their dragons.
