Jameston is the capital and largest city of Carucere. The city has a municipal population of 65,231, an urban population of 77,231 and a transient daily population of 150,000. It is located on the southern shore of the island of Magua, next to the Anne Strait and is part of a greater metropolitan area stretching from Sainte-Rose in the west to Tiberon in the east with an estimated population of 150,000.

The historic center of the city consists of four districts; Carrefour, Bridgetown, Playa, and Fort James. The city has since expanded after the population boom after the 1940s into the outlying areas. The Port of Jameston, found along James Bay, lies within the Anne Strait. The city is serviced by the A1 Highway, more commonly known as the Ring Highway, which loops around the entire island. The Pointe Henri International Airport for Carucere, is located 15 kilometers north of the city center, and has daily flights all over the region.

The present-day location of the city was established by Estmerish settlers in 1532 on the site of a Nati village in the Karukera Confederacy. The settlement served as the administrative center of the island under Estmerish and Gaullican administrations. The city is governed by several assemblies that collectively form the city government. Jameston is a major Golden Isles tourist destination, and the city acts as a notable financial, trade, information, and cruise ship port of call in the region. Major landmarks in the city include Crossroads Park, the Red House, and the National Museum of History. The Gowsan Quarter in the James Fort District is a major cultural center for Dezevauani-Carucereans in the country.
