Kaho Kawase (Miranian: 嘉穂 川瀬; Gylic transcription: Kaho Kauáse; born 6 May 1965) is a Gylian businesswoman and restauranteur. She is the founder of the eponymous chain of fast casual restaurants, Gylias' most successful restaurant chain.

Early life

Kaho was born on 6 May 1965 in Lænas. She comes from a well-to-do Miranian Gylian family, and has two younger siblings.

She attended the university of Sváen, completing a degree in political economy.

While a university student, she worked as an elevator attendant to earn extra money. The job left a strong impression on her and shaped her subsequent business career.

Restauranteur

Kaho worked in restaurants after graduation, where she concluded she was a better fit for administration than actual cooking. She founded her first restaurant in 1989.

Her ambition was to provide a "healthier and more pleasant experience" than the average fast food restaurant. She designed the menu with emphasis on a healthy diet, reducing the use of meat and borrowing more from Miranian cuisine. Inspired by her elevator attendant experience, she also designed a distinctive restaurant uniform, which included a blue-and-white checkerboard apron. She also implemented a six-hour day and four-day workweek.

Kaho Kawase restaurants soon spread across Gylias, and by the late 1990s had become Gylias' most popular restaurant chain. A key element of their success was their effort to imprint the glamour of elevator attendants or flight attendants onto service industry work, which set them apart from other fast food restaurants.

Kaho also showed a talent for publicity. As the face of the company, she created a playful public image for herself, taking inspiration from Marie-Agnès Delaunay and Iris Enţyvel. She commissioned and appeared in several short films depicting the restaurant, jokingly promising, "At Kaho Kawase, we will serve you until you're stuffed." — a joke with ironic resonance amidst Aishwarya Devi's consumption-reducing policies.

Domestic success enabled Kaho to expand the restaurants internationally from the 2000s on, particularly in the Common Sphere.

Private life

Kaho is one of Gylias' most successful and richest restauranteurs, with an estimated net worth of Ŧ20 billion. She is a participant in the Social Partnership Program.

She resides in Lænas, and is married with no children.

She is mainly a practitioner of Kisekidō.
