Katia De Campo (born April 29th, 1985) is the 15th and current defence minister of the United Kingdom of Malgrave.

Early life and career

Katia De Campo was born in Omsk on the 29th of April 1985, to Alessandra De Campo, an administrator for the Ancestral Study Group and Federica De Campo, an officer in the Royal Marines. In 2001 Katia De Campo completed her mandatory education and decided to join Pakosc Military Academy taking up a political/history course while she underwent basic military training. In 2004 Katia De Campo left Pakosc Military Academy and began basic training with the Territorial Defence Force

Territorial Defence Force

Katia De Campo immediately joined the Territorial Defence Force with the rank of Sub-Lieutenant, and was assigned to the Second Infantry Division, Omsk's Finest Company, Third Platoon. Katia's company was tasked with protecting civilian and military infrastructure between Tillingham and Maldon, and acting upon information received from the Special Investigative Service. Between 2004 and 2006 (the period of mandatory service) Katia distinguished herself as an incredibly talented officer, and was noted in dispatches multiple times for her bravery in multiple defensive and offensive operations before she was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant

In 2006 Lieutenant De Campo finished her period of mandatory military service and signed onto the Royal Marines.

Royal Marines

After successfully completing training Lieutenant De Campo was put in charge of Eryn Platoon and tasked with leading offensive operations against mountainside fortifications maintained by the Patriotic Front and the New Malgravean Communist Party. In the space of a few months, Katia De Campo once again distinguished herself as an exemplary officer, with several of her raids on fortifications around Tillingham earning her respect from within the military and the wider public. In 2007 Katia was promoted to the rank of Captain and took charge of Admah Company, quickly implementing her style of leadership to the rest of the company.

Following the 2009 Epping Metro Bombing Katia De Campo was promoted to the rank of Sub-Colonel and tasked with leading a series of aggressive offensive operations against locations suspected to contain members of the New Malgravean Communist Party. Operation Horizon was initially considered to be an embarrassing failure but on the 8th of January 2010 a routine raid on an apartment complex in Rensk led to the uncovering of information that eventually led to the successful completion of Operation Tempest.

In recognition for her work, Katia De Campo was promoted to the rank of Junior Colonel and awarded both the Tesla Commendation and the Asola Medal.

Minister of Defence

In 2014 Colonel Katia De Campo resigned from the Royal Marines and announced that she was running as a candidate for the Progressive Unity Party in the upcoming 2014 Malgravean General Election and was duly elected as the candidate for Omsk Central. Following the election, Katia De Campo joined the Ministry of Defence, and was tasked with defending the government as an elected spokesperson for the department and helping streamline ongoing assistance packages designed for military veterans.

In mid-2015 the Parliamentary Investigative Committee on the Atumite-Malgravean Conflict concluded, and the subsequent political pressure on the Defence Minister Robert Leipzig prompted his swift resignation from the government. At this time Katia De Campo wasn't considered a serious candidate for the position, but it's relatively weak standing within the Malgravean government and increased calls for the next appointee to be someone with military experience meant that De Campo was quickly pushed to the top of the pile and on the 18th of June 2015 Katia De Campo was appointed Defence Minister.

Personal life

Family and romance

Katia De Campo's parents died in 2007 and 2009 respectively but Katia still maintains close contact with her two sisters. In 2014 Katia started a relationship with Aurelia Wyrzykowski and the two reportedly held a coupling ceremony in 2017 at an ASG facility in Epping.

Religion

Katia De Campo is irreligious but she has placed her support behind the ancient origin theory.
