Katyu is a major city in southern Kiyortza, part of the Noriyaka-Katyu metropolitan area, lying on the East Noriya River, just east of the border between Andrauya and Rȳkirsi, in which its sister city of Noriyaka is located. Katyu is a historical city, dating close to two thousands years back, established by the early Kapriszi. Its current name is a shortening of the name Katyuri, a queen of the Kapriszi that the city was later renamed in honor of.

Much of Katyu's infrastructure is shared or linked with that of Noriyaka, despite being in separate provinces, primarily due to their proximity and historical connection, leading to most public transit in and out of the city being located in Rȳkirsi, where both the cities' airport and high-speed rail station is located.
