Kirami Ochran, officially known by its full name Kingdom of Kirami Ochran (Kirami Lambaney: كراجأن اوكران كيرامي; Tulisan Latin: Kerajaan Ukran Kirami), or simply Kiram, is located in Southern Ochran. It is bound to the east by the Kayatman Sea and shares its borders with the countries of Shimlar-Pashmir to the north, Ankat to the west, and Kainuinoa to the south.
Etymology
The use of the word "Kiram" as an adjective in the national name is a nisba, a naming custom adapted from Gharib countries. It indicates that the kingdom is ruled by the House of Al-Kiram, the founding family of Kirami Ochran. The family derived its name from its semi-legendary progenitor, Datu Kiram ul-Mubashir. According to family legend, the "Mubashir" part of the regnal name was adopted in reference to his claim as a descendant of the Prophet Mubashir, founder of the Azdarin religion.
As part of the Defeudalization Acts of 1860, Raja Jamalul II proposed to adopt an official name for the kingdom. The Royal Council initially drafted the name "Kerajaan Ukran Mubashiri" or "Mubashiri Ochran Kingdom." Jamalul opposed the name. He sided with modern historians who believed Datu Kiram was not related to Mubashir. Evidence strongly suggested Kiram adopted the name "Mubashir" to establish his nobility to the growing number of Azdarists among his subjects. In the Basic Law of 1862, the finalized and official name is "Kerajaan Ukran Kirami" (Kirami Lambaney: كراجأن اوكران كيرامي). It is translated as the "Kingdom of Kirami Ochran," literally the "Kirami Ochran Kingdom." The House of Al-Kiram was renamed from "Al-Mubashir."
Prior to the adoption of the current name, the kingdom was only called "Kiram" by foreign traders. It is in reference to Bandar Kiram, the capital and main seaport of Kirami Ochran. It served as the seat of the Al-Kirami family, who ruled the city since its founding by Datu Kiram as the medieval city-state "Kedatuan of Kiram." Despite the name change in 1862, "Kiram" continues to be popularly used as the short name of the country.

In the Sixth Kiramese Conquest Wars (1655-1658), the Kedatuan of Kiram, the Kedatuan of Piang, and its other allies in the Highland Confederation fought against the Confederation of Buayang Bato, an alliance of the last remaining independent kedatuans and lakanates of the Ahlranese, Lambaney, Pashmiri, and Terasi peoples.
