The Socialist Federation of Kylastan, commonly known as Kylastan, is a landlocked nation in Central Ausiana, bordered by Elastan, Jaginistan, Pekastan, Tasiastan, and Atylestan. Ethnic Kylaks make up the majority of the country's 9.4 million people, followed by significant minorities of Jaginis and Beleroskovians. Kylastan's history spans a variety of cultures and empires. Although geographically isolated by its highly mountainous terrain, Kylastan has been at the crossroads of several great civilizations along commercial routes. It was absorbed into the UCSS and gained independence after it dissolved in 1999. After independence, Kylastan officially became a unitary presidential republic. Throughout its existence, the country has continued to endure ethnic conflicts, revolts, economic troubles, transitional governments and political conflict.
Kylastan is a member of the Coalition of Crown Albatross, the Alliance of Central and West Ausianan Cooperation (ACWAC), and the Coalition Trade Organization. It is a developing country, and is among the poorest countries in Central Ausiana. The country's transitional economy is heavily dependent on deposits of gold, coal and uranium. Its current President is Amir Habital, who has been in power since 2005.
