2021-22 LFA Premier League
The LINNEN LFA Premier League is an Lannish professional league for men's association football clubs in Lannistter. The league is Lannistter's primary domestic football competition, located at the top of the nation's football league system. The league was formed in December 26th 1922 during The Great War (Lannish Front), stopping play in 1977 and during the Lannish Civil War from late 1996 to 2000. Originally formed as a League of 10, the Premier League experienced three expansions, the first in 1938 adding four teams, two in 1946 and the remaining four in 1992. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the bottom three teams each season being relegated directly to LFA Championship (Only a team from the 16th position in the standings can play a one-game play-off against the 4th of the LFA Championship to see who maintains the category in case of victory of the Premier League team or who is promoted and who descends in case of the Championship team victory).

According to the LFA Vice-President, the LFA Premier League is making its presence known in the DSAFF. The LFA boasts many members from the Arkhangelsk Foxes FC, where they placed 1st in the DSAFF Champions Cup 2020. The league is now considered a hub for growth and development for new athletes, sending players to the Lannish Football (Football in Lannistter) and other international teams.

Format

There are 20 clubs in the LFA Premier League. During the course of a season (from August to May) each club plays the others twice (a double round-robin system), once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents', for 38 games. Teams receive 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference, then goals scored, and then head-to-head record. If still equal, teams are deemed to occupy the same position. If there is a tie for the championship, for relegation, or for qualification to other competitions, a play-off match at a neutral venue decides rank. Most games are played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with a few games played on weekdays.

Teams

A total of 20 teams contest the league in its current season.

Honours

Kampioscöpa

Since 1946, the winners of the National Soccer League wear the Kampioscöpa ("Champions shield") as a decoration the following season.

Stars

In 1950, the Lannish Football Association introduced a system to recognise sides that have won multiple championships by the display of gold stars on their team badges and jerseys. The practice in Lannistter is to award one star for 10 titles, two stars for 20 titles, three stars for 30 titles, four stars for 40 titles and five stars for 50 titles.

The following clubs have been officially allowed to wear stars while playing in the LFA Premier League. The number in parentheses is for Premier titles won.
