The AvG m/17, officially the Armeringvärnsgevär Modell 1917 is an Acrean 20mm anti-tank and anti-material rifle designed by Landsverk for the Acrean Armed Forces in the 1910s. A departure from earlier anti-tank rifles such as the Stuhr m/95-13cm which were effectively enlarged bolt-action service rifles, the m/17 faced numerous mechanical teething issues in its early years in service. It was developed alongside the 20x138mm cartridge, the largest caliber of any Acrean infantry weapon at the time of its introduction. It was best suited for use in defensive roles, as the powerful 20mm cartridge and the gun's corresponding size made rapid operation and movement difficult. A later version chambering the slightly more manageable 20x105mm cartridge was introduced in Acrean service in 1938.
Despite its considerable recoil, size, and weight, the m/17 was highly effective in both the anti-tank and anti-material role. It remained effective in the anti-tank role into the Siduri War, able to punch through up to 65mm of armour at 100 metres using its standard armour piercing ammunition.
