List of Political Parties in Tevitheim
Tevitheim has had a multiparty system on the legislative level since electoral reforms during the early 2000s, after the controversial 2001 and 2007 elections, which saw the winners of both elections win without winning the popular vote. Proportional representation, a two-round system for grand chancellery elections, and reforming and limiting the power of the Jarlaråd led to the two-party system dominated by the Social Union and Republicans dissolving into the current multiparty system. Currently, six parties have representation in the Alnating. On the federal level, any party with representation on the Alnating is considered a nationally recognized party.
Currently, the largest party is the Social Union, a Christian-democratic center-right party, and is considered the dominant center-right bloc in Tevitheim. The Social Union has produced six grand chancellors, including the incumbent, Daniel Bylund. The second largest party is the Republican Party, a center-left social democratic party that is considered to represent the mainsteam left-wing in Tevitheim. Other major parties include the liberal conservative Liberal Democrats, the socially liberal Progressive-Greens, and the extremist National and Worker's parties.
