The contract is worth SEK 115 million and includes upgrading the sensor to the latest variant, ModC, and developing a new command, control, and communication system. These vehicles were deployed to Afghanistan with the Telemark Battalion as part of ISAF operations.
In 2016, a deal was signed with BAE Systems Hägglunds and Anaheim Electronics to acquire 120 new CV90N MkIII and upgrade the existing fleet to the MkIII standard, including Protector RWS, Iron Fist APS, a 1,000-horsepower Scania engine, and improved IED protection. Deliveries of the new vehicles and upgrades started in 2017. From 2023 to 2024, 60 surplus MkIs were donated to Ukraine, leaving a total of 280 units in service as of 2024. | |

The Sisu XA-180 entered service in the 1980s with Norbatt and was later joined by XA-185s, acquired in the 1990s; both were deployed to Kosovo with Vinland Dragoon Battalion. In 2010, the XA-180 and XA-185 were sold to Estonia.
The XA-186 and XA-203N variants remain in service with Brigade Sør and the Her Majesty the Queen's Guard (HMDG). Many are utilized as armored ambulances across various units, serving as armored transports in the rapid response company of HMDG. In 2017, a contract was signed with Patria to convert 30 XA-203N vehicles into Multi-Role Medical Platforms (MRSP), replacing the older XA-185 ambulances. The entire Sisu Pasi fleet is planned to be replaced by the Sisu GTP. | |
