List of prime ministers of Lyncanestria
The Prime Minister of Lyncanestria is the head of government of Lyncanestria. The prime minister is appointed by the Emperor, who appoints the prime minister granted the appointee can command confidence in the Parliament. The post of prime minister in Lyncanestria dates back to the appointment of a Lord Chancellor by the monarch to lead his Privy Council, upon whom the duties of governance fell by virtue of the council being made of the different agencies that ran government. Though the Privy Council remains, the different agencies with bureaucratic and administrative powers under the new Imperial Charter are now the cabinet ministries which are headed by the prime minister. The first prime minister, The Duke of Montbazon was appointed as a caretaker premier by Philippe I, following the signing and enactment of the Imperial Charter in 1871, while preparations for a general election were made. There have been a total of thirty-one prime ministers, with a number of them serving multiple consecutive terms and a fraction multiple non-consecutive terms. There four former prime ministers who are still alive. The current prime minister is Luc Mariard.
