Madhopur is the second-largest city of the Haduastani state of Vakayada, after the namesake city, with a population of 452,000 people prior to the 2023 invasion. Madhopur is situated on the Jandus River. The city is known for its religious significance in Haduaism and has hundreds of temples, many of which are internationally designated cultural sites.
In late 2023, the city was heavily damaged as a result of the Battle of Madhopur during the ACWAC-led invasion, and was occupied by Barangadeshi and Elastani forces.
