Marcenius Junia Silanus, officially known as Marcenius the Third or often derogatorily referred to as Marcenius the Hysteric was the seventy-first Wolf Palatine of the Second Wolf Palatinate and the third-to-last Palatine until his death in XXXX. He was the son of a noblewoman named Junia Silanus, but his father is unknown. Modern historians have theorized that his father was either Eastern Military Vicar Vipsanius Marcelius or Palatine Senator Lucius Secundus. Historical sources refer to him as the Hysteric due to his reaction to the death of his son Claudius the Ill, which was preceded by his tyrannical and generally incompetent rule. He was despised by many aristocrats and vicars who saw him as morally repugnant and decadent.
