The Mentone Senate is the unicameral state legislature of Mentone.

There are 28 members of the Senate, representing single-member districts across the state, with populations of approximately 12,400 per constituency, based on the 2020 Census. Elections are held every four years on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

There are no term limits. Terms are four years in length. The Senate meets at the Mentone State Capitol in Mentone City. The Conservatives currently control the chamber, which is made up of 20 Conservatives and 5 Democratic Unionists, and 3 Liberals.

Leadership

The Leuitenant Governor of Mentone serves in the largely cermonial role of President of the Senate, but their only real power is being able to cast tie breaking votes. From their own membership, the majority party elects a majority leader, and the minority coalition elects an opposition leader.
