Waladiya was a very skilled officer, leading multiple battles against the Riamese and winning the majority of them. He also was a fervent defender of Salamati-style socialism.
Mohammed Waladiya died at age 78 from a heart attack, during a lunch in the Presidential Palace. A state funeral was organized for him in Dar Al Hamma on April 25 1975. He was succeeded by his counselor Majid Khummam, after his personal wish.
Many places have his name, including the famous Waladiya park in western Dar Al Hamma or the Mohammed Waladiya Avenue in the Salamati neighborhood of Cape Reach in The Vanna.
