The Monarchy of Cacerta (commonly referred to as the Cacertian Monarchy) is the constitutional monarchy of the Kingdom of Cacerta and its overseas territories. The monarch and immediate family undertake various official, ceremonial, diplomatic, and representational duties. As the monarchy is constitutional, the monarch is only allowed to dictate non-partisan decisions in Parliament. The monarch is the official Commander-in-Chief of the Cacertian Armed Forces, though this title is more of a formality than a functional office. Unlike other constitutional monarchies, ultimate executive authority over the Kingdom lies with the monarch with royal assent taking precedent in the final decision to passing legislation. Queen Anelyn I became Cacerta's reigning monarch on 5 June 2009.
The Cacertian monarchy was founded in 1871 by Victor Sarissita following the Unification Wars that created a single Cacertian State. Since its foundation, House Sarissita—the direct descendants of Victor himself—has held the highest position in the Kingdom in a primarily unbroken rule for 146 years.
