Anelyn I (Anelyn Mariella Trento; born 11 July 1991) is the current constitutional monarch of the Kingdom of Cacerta and its associated foreign territories; this includes the Kingdom’s military protectorate of Andria and its holding of Molise on the continent of Siduri. Although Anelyn was the next eligible heir of Cacerta’s thrown following her father’s death in 2006, she was only fifteen years old at the time and considered too young. As a result, her mother ruled as Queen Regent for three years until Anelyn ascended to the throne as the next Head of the United Kingdoms of Cacerta when she came of age in 2009.

Anelyn was born in Cacerta's capital city of Vichenza and attended a public academy located within the ground levels of the Torre Alta. Her father, Agostino I, became King of Cacerta in 1997 following the death of his father, Doriano. Upon Agostino's accession, Anelyn became the heir apparent as his firstborn child. She is the older sister of twins Princess Anneta and Princess Arianna.

Since becoming Queen, the third female ruler in united Cacertian history, Anelyn has gone on to establish close relations to other nations in Tyran and reverse several years of isolationism that characterized the nation’s foreign politics following the Siduri War. Known for her laid back attitude, quiet demeanor, formal etiquette, and preference for nudity, Queen Anelyn is currently considered the most popular monarch to rule the Kingdom to date.

Childhood to Current Life

Anelyn is the first child of Prince Agostino, and his wife, Amadea. Agostino was the youngest child of King Doriano and Queen Savina. Anelyn’s mother was the second daughter of Adamo Gallo of House Davion. As a result she has familial ties to three of Cacerta’s major Royal Houses.

Anelyn would be born in the Vichenza Royal Hospital in the Torre Alta at 1:45 am (GMT) on 11 July 1991. She was named Anelyn after her father's deceased eldest sister who had died at the age of twenty when Agostino was only ten years old. Anelyn has two twin siblings, Princess Anneta and Princess Arianna, who were born eight years later on 7 June 1999. Living under the stewardship of the Sarissita family, Anelyn developed a close friendship with Helena Padova with whom she spent much of her childhood.

Education

Anelyn was primarily educated in public schools throughout Vichenza, attending the prestigious Sofia School of Cacerta between first and eighth grade before continuing into secondary school at Vichenza Secondary Academy within the middle section of the Torre Alta. Throughout her educational career, Anelyn possessed a reputation for being quiet and kind which earned her a considerable amount of popularity among her peers. Through her tenure in secondary school, Anelyn learned Dutch alongside her native languages of English and Italian.

She had been making plans to attend Sarissita University of Vichenza upon finishing secondary schooling with a focus on chemistry and physics, expressing interest in expanding her academic career by pursuing a postgraduate degree in particle physics. Anelyn hoped to eventually work for the Advanced Scientific Institute of Cacerta. The untimely death of her father 2006, however, required her to suspend her pursuit of further education. Several years after assuming her position as Queen of Cacerta, Anelyn resumed her education and began re-attending classes in a limited fashion in 2015. She completed the requirements for her major and graduated in 2019.

Reign

Accession and Coronation

Queen Anelyn Trento's rise to the throne has been considered the result of a terrible event. Her father had been expected to rule for a significant amount of time and, as such, would allow Anelyn to pursue a career outside of politics. However, Agostino died suddenly on 5 June 2006 and in the absence of a written will to dictate Agostino's succession, Parliament declared Anelyn—as his eldest child—to be his successor. Since Anelyn was only fifteen years old at the time, it was decided that her mother would rule as regent until she turned eighteen.

Dowager Queen Amadea immediately assumed the responsibilities of the monarchy but did not immediately call for a general election as had been tradition in the past. The unique nature of the succession had previously never been encountered. Amadea, however, saw her rule as a continuation of her deceased husband’s and instead believed that the elections should be reserved for when Anelyn ascended the throne.

Anelyn assumed the responsibilities of the role quickly, and her first act was to issue the writs for a general election, as Cacertian law requires a new election when a new monarch takes the throne. Her official coronation took place on 6 July 2009, after the election had ended but before a new government was formed.

Following her successful trip through areas that made up Cacerta's former overseas colonies, Anelyn immediately set out to bolster contact with nearby nations in Tyran beginning with Gylias, Shalum, and Lirinya soon after.

Personal Life

Anelyn is known for living a casual and relaxed life outside of politics. Despite being royalty and the Queen of Cacerta, she is noted for enjoying basic daily activities. Whenever she is not dealing with issues directly related with the nation, Anelyn can be found exploring Vichenza on foot or making unannounced state visits to other regions under Cacertian rule.

Since she was in middle school, Anelyn has described herself as pansexual; finding attraction to the personalities defined by both men and women. This is reflected in her close relationship with Gylian Prime Minister Toni Vallas as well as Shalumite Imperator Tyler Holland.

Anelyn has maintained a long-term relationship with her secondary school love interest Rinaldo Giordano, an officer currently serving in the Royal Air Fleet's expeditionary forces. Her relationship with him has resulted in one daughter, Princess Ayalla Giordano-Trento, who was born in 2012. She also maintains a deeply romantic and close relationship with her childhood friend Helena Padova.

In March 2016, Anelyn confirmed she was pregnant with her second child fathered by Imperator Holland. She gave birth to Aleeia Sarissita-Holland on 13 September 2016.

Public Image and Perception

Domestic

As the nation’s youngest monarch to date, doubts were initially raised about Anelyn's ability to rule the nation in the aftermath of her father's death. These doubts were quickly cleared following her first several sessions in Parliament. She quickly made it clear that not only would she disagree with her council on policies that she believed might negatively affect the nation but also in her proposal of ideas to help improve Cacerta’s quality of life and continue to stabilize the nation’s welfare state.

International reception of Anelyn's reign has been generally positive.
