Montagnes ("Mountains"; French: [mɔ̃.taɲ]) is a province of Ainin that occupies most of the Suvarde Highlands. It is bounded to the south and east by the Saltèrne Mountains, to the west by the Poirier Mountains and to the north by Linaque. It also shares borders with Bounèsque, Côte-Dorée, Saltèrne—Détroit and the Pays-de-l'Ouest.
Historically part of the Duchy of Linaque, Montagnes' temperate climate has long made it the breadbasket of Ainin. It was constituted as an independent province in the provincial reorganisation of 1971 out of Linaque's three southernmost regions and the western half of Saltèrne (the eastern half was annexed to Détroit to form Saltèrne—Détroit). Its provincial capital, Marlane-la-Prairie, is a major cultural centre of Ainin and the birthplace of the Aininian Revolution. The Auxpuis oak, a symbol of the revolt, is located in northern Montagnes.
