Early life and education

Born in 2080, his father was a religious studies teacher and active in the Teachers' Independent Union whilst his mother was a stay-at-home parent.

He got a bachelors’ degree in Islamic Studies at Al-Azhar in 2102 before working as a teacher in Jordan for 10 years.

Career

Muhammad Ali Hassan taught religious studies for 10 years, mostly in secondary schools. He then became a politician for the Traditionalist Party, representing it on the local council in Amman until 2116. In 2119, he was elected the representative for West Amman in the Jordanian Parliament. In 2121, he switched to the Labor Party and won the election that legally follows.

Political ideology

Despite his economically left-of-Centre views, and liberal views regarding racial issues, Muhammad Ali Hassan is generally considered a conservative politician due to his stances on gender issues, sexual orientation and certain aspects of the criminal justice system.
