The Christian Kingdom of Nachtmark, otherwise known as Nachtmark, is a sovereign country in southern Belisaria. It shares borders with Garima to the west and north and Milostia to the east. It is located in southeastern Belisaria, bordering the Periclean Sea to the north. It currently has 15 million inhabitants.
Nachtmark is a theocratic absolute monarchy. It’s current monarch is King Peter X, who has reigned since 2005. There are three duchies: Niedermark, Ostschild and Kreuzburg. Its largest city and capital is the {wp|Free City}} of Kronberg, with a population of X. Other major cities include Frauendorf and Castelkirch, both duchy capitals, and other notable cities include Winterhuizen and Klingelborn.
Nachtmark was a part of Garima since the founding of the latter, and the two nations share much history with each other. However, when most of Garima converted to Lutheranism, the territories that would later be known as Nachtmark decided that they would not stand for what they viewed as heresy, and when Garima went to war with the Holy Audonian Empire, the territories rebelled against Garima. Garima tried to reclaim the lost territories, but under attack from from the HAE in the north, they let Nachtmark have their independence in order to focus on fighting the Audonian juggernaut.
