The Nebberath are an ethnicity that hail from Southern Altea, though they are spread throughout the Mist Continent, and the Veiled Isle.
Name
The term Nebberath comes from the proto-Altean words, "Neb" or cloudy and "Rathin" or wanderers. Together for Nebrath or "wanderers in the clouds" for their typically intellectual demeanor. Alternatively, some scholars believe it is in reference to their origin in the rolling lands of the Majstaad, and the South Altean hills.
Distribution
Nebberath can be found all over Mystria, as their more or less nomadic lifestyle as wandering teachers, scholars, and merchants has spread Nebberathi settlement far and wide. Nominally, the Veiled Isle has been claimed as "The Nebberath homeland", and does certainly have the largest stable population Nebberath people. Other large concentrations of Nebberath people are located in D'hɑlbrisir and Southwest Altea.
Physical Characteristics
The Nebberath have, in spite of their wide travels are not a particularly diverse lot at first glance. The average Nebberathi man stands 1.65m tall and the women 1.53m. On average, Nebberathi men weigh 62.14kg, and women 49.90kg. Nebbarath tend to be of a darker tone than many from Altea having dark, often black hair with brown eyes. Nebbarathi also have a swarthy olive complexion in comparison to lighter Tor and Aurothi.
Culture
Nebbarath are collectively a very scholarly people. Being knowledgeable was considered an asset to people who wander the world. Nebbarath are also distant in their handling of other people. Some Nebbarath prefer to live among their own, and such efforts have resulted in the Nebbarath "homeland" of the Veiled Isle. However, this trend is not universal among Nebbarath, especially given their nature as quasi-nomads.
Language
The native language of the Nebbarath people is that of Neterlingua. However, given the nature of Nebbarathi travel, Nebbarath almost always speak other languages, often, Common, Keldon, and D'rɑgolɛth.
Religion
Nebbarath tend to have belief in one of the forms that worship of common Mystrian deities. Most often this is either worship of Serion or worship of the entire Pantheon. In particular, in the Veiled Isle, the Nebbarath form the high leadership of the Church of the Ecclesiastes of Serion.
