The New Centre Party is a centrist political party in Toubaze. The party was founded after a split in the Centre Liberals in the late 2000s.

History

After an internal divide occurred in the Centre Liberals following a change in leadership during the early 2000s, some of its politicians started to get disillusioned with the new course of the party, which many criticised for leaning heavily towards the Liberal Party as the Centre Liberals were supposed to be a pure centre party who could cooperate with all parties. Avos Soc, National Assembly member from the Centre Liberals, declared his intention to establish a "new true centrist party, not tangled up in the back and forth in the political spectrum". New Centre was officially founded on 1 June 2008 with the intention of running in the 2009 General election.
