Field Marshal Nikolai Vilhelmsen (19 February 1909) is a Dalmascan military leader and philosopher known for his commanding roles during the Second Europan War and in the War of Lorican Aggression. He was known for his early roles as an initiator of the Dalmascan Army's tactic known as Deep Penetration. He would later find himself serving Dalmasca and Nabradia's overseas force as part of the Allies forces during EWII. His success in the North Africanna Campaign during the early years of the war found himself promoted at the age of 31. In late 1942, he found himself reassigned to the Middle East Campaign as the new commander of the newly-reformed 15th Army Group that was beaten early in the war. His reformed army group not only consisted of Dalmascans and Galbadians, but also Gallian, Alterian, and Nibelheimian.
Born to a family of military heritage, Vilhelmsen was the youngest of his 4 brothers. He studied philosophy at the University of Leá Monde until he graduated in 1930. While he was still studying, he followed his brothers into the military and developed a sense of leadership amongst his brothers. He was also the most tact of his brothers. He was easily promoted to Major when he presented a thesis with regards to the Dalmascan Army's creation of a new military strategy known as Deep Penetration. Vilhelmsen achieved top marks when he proved that the strategy was unattainable without the proper logistics and communications support. Unlike the Imperial Blitzkrieg, Vilhelmsen noted that Deep Penetration needed formations to push through at different but critical parts of the battle rather than pushing at all flanks. His theory was proved correct when he found himself commanding a regiment being able to push through Imperial lines in Marocca while retaining close air support and logistics. He was subsequently promoted to Brigadier.
Vilhelmsen was later promoted to General in 1938 after the Dalmascan Army realised that it could not rely on its existing commanders due to the massive losses suffered by the Dalmascans and Galbadians during the 1937 Winter Campaign. He was put in charge of restructuring and retraining the army. It took nearly 5 years before the reformed 15th Army Group was ready. The army group would later be joined by Nibelheimians, Alterians, and Gallians. He would put his achievements to the test when he faced off with Quenminese Marshal Mạc Hiếu Quang during Operation Tetrarch, which was a plan by the Imperials to push through Southern Pakistania and into Afghania for a second time. Vilhelmsen employed a mix of offensive and unconventional strategies that helped him defeat Imperial forces, thus redeeming Dalmasca and Galbadia's loss in 1937. He would go on to serve throughout the war and later during the War of Lorican Aggression until his retirement in 1979.
