From 1905, Vilcasuamanas was occupied by a joint coalition of Gaullica and Werania. The occupation was preceded by an international crisis precipitated by the nationalization of foreign-owned rubber plantations by Vilcasuamanian Chancellor Steponas Vailokaitis, and led to a period of instability and military government within the country that would last until the withdrawal of Euclean forces in 1911.
