The Osoikaze-class frigate is a class of frigates constructed for the United States of the Tao Navy. The Osoikaze class is currently the newest class of frigates to be introduced into the USTN, and is the first ship class since 1985 to not be apart of the next-gen fleet plan.

Development

The Osoikaze-class frigates were planned and developed as a supplement and possible replacement to the Hageshīkaze-class frigates. Initially planned as a class of 12, there have been talks of increasing the number of total ships to 16 or possibly 20.

The vessels are powered by four Yotota Heavy Industries diesel engines (estimated to produce around 7,600bhp each) which propel the ship to speeds upwards of 27 knots.
