Our Homeland (Principean: Notre Patrie) is a right-wing, national conservative and populist electoral alliance formed to contest the 2024 Saint-Baptiste parliamentary election. The alliance was formed as a merger of the country's main right-wing parties Platform for Saint-Baptiste, Defense of the Republic and the newly formed Patriotic Alliance. The alliance is headed by the leader of the Patriotic Alliance and former President and Prime Minister Cyrille Bachelet.

Currently the party holds 2 seats within the Chamber of Deputies though will be running candidates in all 15 seats in the upcoming elections.

History

Our Homeland was formed in early August 2024 amongst the right-wing parties of Saint-Baptiste to contest the 2024 parliamentary election. Incentive to form the alliance rose due to the increasing unpopularity of the incumbent People's Action Party representing the centre-right of Baptistois politics who have governed the country since 2012. Whilst discussions of a wider right-wing coalition had been floated since the late 2010s, it wasn't until the formation of the Patriotic Alliance under the leadership of Cyrille Bachelet as well as the formation of the rival left-wing alliance Popular Front that talks to form Our Homeland became a reality.

Bachelet's split with the People's Action Party over disagreements over the role of the Presidency and his support of President Victor Azaïs' attempts to reform the executive spurred the creation of the right-wing Patriotic Front in late June 2024. Polling conducted by La République upon a hypothetical pro-Azaïs party would poll at 11% and this figure only increased further upon the formation of the Patriotic Alliance.[1]

The formation of the Popular Front in early July as an alliance of the Saint-Baptiste Labour Party, Social Democratic Party and Fanmi further pushed the right-wing parties to unite in talks about an electoral pact due to the risk of vote splitting allowing the left-wing alliance to take power. On 4 August, the Our Homeland electoral alliance was announced by Cyrille Bachelet at a campaign rally in Celice Park, Port Anne.[2]
